I met a cute dog on a walk,
And faster than champagne pops a cork,
She fairly flew,
The saliva did too,
And she tried to scoff all my lunch dairy
My canine muse is incidentally called Lucy. Apparently, she usually begs rather than steals. I assume she has a weakness for aged cheddar.
A slightly shorter day today as this represented the second half of my rest day. Also, it is difficult to tear myself away from town luxuries such as freely available food and kettles, so leaving early was never likely.
The northbound hikers who I met throughout the day were an unusually dispirited bunch. The rain which hit White Pass seems to have been even heavier here at altitude, with the temperatures dropping below freezing. My campsite this evening shows signs of a hastily constructed drainage system. No wonder they are so intent on reaching civilisation again.

I am not a fan of cold, and rain makes it so much worse. Not fun walking away from the cake shops.
It looks like you’ve timed it right with the weather.
